How to Create an Alert

You can create alerts to be notified when certain events occur. To be notified, you need to be set up as a contact (video link) so the system knows where to send the alerts. You can create alerts for the following events:

On Speed Occurs when the unit reports a speed greater than the amount specified by the user (ex: alert when over 70 MPH.)
On Posted Speed Limit Occurs when the unit reports a speed greater than the posted speed limit for the road the vehicle is travelling on. (ex: alert when vehicle is going 55 MPH in a 45 MPH zone.)
On Landmark Occurs when the unit reports at a landmark location. (ex: alert when reporting from "Office Location")
On Idle / On Stop Occurs when the vehicle has been idle/stopped for longer than the specified time (ex: alert when idle for more than 5 minutes.)
Stopped Reporting Occurs when the vehicle has not reported for longer than the specified time. (ex: alert when 12 hours has elapsed since last event.)

Note: There could be several reasons a unit doesn't report - such as being in a parking garage where there is no GPS signal or the unit has been disconnected. Of course, when a vehicle is not in use, it will not report (ex: parked for several days)

Below is an example alert for when the vehicle reports at over 75 MPH.

  1. Create a Title for your alert: OVER 75MPH
  2. Choose an Action: On Speed
  3. Choose an Event: Over 75 mph
  4. Choose which units to apply the alert to: All Units

Next, select at least one contact to be notified. You MUST click the Add Contact button after selecting the contact.

Lastly, click on the Add Alert button to add the alert. The alert fields will then reset. You will need to click on the Alerts Table to expand it and show all existing alerts.
